Although Dubai is notorious for traffic and a lack of public transportation, the RTA (Roads and Transport Authorities) has been working hard to make that a problem of the past. With the addition of a new fleet of high quality buses, the number of buses in service has exceeded the 500 mark. With 62 routes cutting across the city, you’re sure to get to where you need to be. The buses feature air-conditioning, electronically operated destination display systems and computerised fare equipment. Not only that, but the RTA has installed the world’s first air-conditioned bus shelters all over the city, to help passengers cope with Dubai’s fierce summer heat. All these services are offered at a very affordable price. Even though the public bus services is presently being used by people who don’t own a car, the government hopes that with its cutting-edge innovations, it’ll be the choice of transportation for many more.
