The Palm Jebel Ali is located on the Jebel Ali coastal area. It is a man-made island and shaped like a palm, and will consist of a trunk, 17 fronds, a crown and a surrounding crescent island that will form a water-breaker.
The Jebel Ali Palm will serve as an entertainment zone to all adults and children. The island will also be 50% larger in size than that of Palm Jumeirah. It includes six marinas, a 'Sea Village', a water theme park and water homes built on stilts between the fronds and the crescent. The construction on the Palm Jebel Ali began in October 2002.
There is an extra ring between the palm itself and the outer ring. This extra ring consists of houses on stilts and are clubed in such way that the piers form characters of a poem which means:
Take wisdom only from the wise,
Not everyone who rides a horse is a jockey.
It takes a man of vision to write on water,
Great men rise to great challenges.
