Dubai master developer Tatweer said on Sunday it plans to build a 3.68 billion-dirham ($1 billion) preventative and integrative medicine resort along the Dubai Creek.
The Dubai Wellness Resort will form part of the second phase of development within Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), bringing total investment in the project to 27.5 billion dirhams, the company said.
Tatweer, part of state-owned conglomerate Dubai Holding, said the resort brought its investment in DHCC to 12.5 billion dirhams, while its partners had so far invested a total of 15 billion dirhams.
Located within DHCC's Wellness Cluster, the resort will include cosmetic and integrated medical services, a sports medicine facility, "healthy-living" residences, "healthy-lifestyle" retail district and seven-star luxury hotels.
