One-week Eid holidays for schools, DNRD open

Dubai: All educational institutions in the UAE will remain closed for one week including Sunday, September 28, which is a working day for the public and private sectors, the Ministry of Education announced. They will reopen on Sunday, October 5. "Schools will only have vacation on that day while the employees of the Ministry in Abu Dhabi and Dubai as well as the education zones will resume their duties regularly on that day," said an official at the Ministry of Education. Students and schools welcomed the decision saying it will help them organise their vacations better. Meanwhile, all the the Naturalisation and Residency Department offices will remain open during the Eid holidays from September 29 to October 5 in line with directives from Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Minister. Special work schedules for employees have been drawn out in an effort to give maximum support for the clients.
