Karama is conveniently located in the heart of old Dubai. With just about every type of store or establishment you can think of, you won’t have to travel far to get what you’re after – be it baby clothes or an LCD T.V. There’s also the extremely popular Karama souk which is known for its ‘copy’ merchandise.
The housing here is mostly in old low-rise buildings and the rent is some of the cheapest around, making Karama one of the busiest areas in Dubai. Traffic, old buildings and a general lack of beauty make Karama a not so desirable place to live. A few new residential buildings have risen along Zabeel Road that are as extravagant as the ones you’d find in upper scale areas, but they come with hefty price tags.
If you’re considering making Karama your new home, you should know that vacant apartments get snatched up very quickly and it’s usually known by word-of-mouth. So unless you happen to have a friend living there, you may find it difficult to get your hands on an apartment.
Apartments in Karama are for rent only.
