If you want to be in the most central part of Dubai, with easy access to all the action, then living on Sheikh Zayed Road would be perfect for you. You’ve probably seen this road, lined with some of the world’s tallest and most modern skyscrapers, on T.V. or in a magazine. Although apartments are expensive and hard to come by, it’s worth the search if you want to be in the heart of the city. Numerous cafés, restaurants and shopping centres will be at your doorstep if Sheikh Zayed is your new address.
On the flip side, it often gets busy as commuters rush to and from their offices almost all day long. And although the actual road is a 6-lane highway in order to accommodate thousands of cars, there’s not much space for people to walk. It’s almost impossible to cross the road as there’s only one pedestrian bridge going across which is not an option during the summer months.
So deciding whether or not to live here depends on your personal preference. If you’re job happens to be on Sheikh Zayed Road or you love the hustle and bustle of the city, then it might be the right choice for you after all.
